DIVORCED, SEPARATED, AND WIDOWED MINISTRY

Our path through this life can be gentle one that is walked in love. This means love for ourselves and love for others. Sometimes it is difficult to love others.  Sometimes it is more difficult to love ourselves than it is to love others. We are called in the Christian life not to be a push over as there are times we need to set boundaries. Sometimes we need to detach. We need to take care of ourselves. Sometimes it is hard to walk our path in love finding the balance between assertive action taken in our own best interests and love for others.  We sometimes equate personal strength with being strong. But we naturally have days when we cannot push any harder, cannot hold back the self-doubt, cannot stop focusing on fear. We just cannot be strong.  Sometimes need to just fall apart and need to give ourselves permission to fall apart. We don’t have to be the perpetual towers of strength. It is okay to be human.  Our strength will continue.

Our group meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Living Room in our Outreach Center located at 6 West End Ct., Long Branch N.J. For more information call Deacon Somma at 732-483-0360 ext 12. Our Topics this month are:

Answer to Last Weeks Question:  While it is certainly true that a woman's body is greatly impacted by pregnancy, it is not true that abortion is simply a matter of her choosing to do something with her body.  The fetus growing within her womb is a separate person with its own distinct genetic makeup.  Abortion does not remove some part of the woman's body; it destroys the body of a separate, unique individual.

That said, the truth is that pro-lifers cannot "force" a women to choose life for her baby.  Abortion is legal, and if it weren't, illegal abortion would still be an option.  That is why we seek instead to inform women about the consequences of abortion and do what we can to help her choose life for her unborn child.

For Healing The Pain of Abortion - RACHELS VINEYARD.  http://www.rachelsvineyard.org/

FACT:  Until 2002, the most common treatment for symtoms of menopause was hormone replacement therapy (HRT), using hormones similar to those in combined oral contraceptives, but in lower doses.  As use of HRT increased (61 million prescriptions at its height), breast cancer rates rose over 40 percent from the early 1980's through 2001.  In 2002, however, the Women's Health Initiative trials in the use of HRT were abruptly halted due to findings of increased risks of breast cancer, heart disease, blood clots, and stroke.  When the findings were published, many American women stopped using such HRT (down to 21 million prescriptions).  The National Cancer Institute reports that breast cancer rates in women over age 50 then dropped 8.6 percent between 2001 and 2004.

QUESTION:  Don't a majority of Americans support legal abortion?  Answer will be in next weeks bulletin.

Love God, Love Neighbor, Love Yourself.  Let's act together to end abortion and build a Culture of Truth and Love.  Questions, more information, or to Stand up for Life call Raymond at 732-870-0427 or email rpr6@verizon.net

We have added a Prayer Request page to our website. All prayer requests will be forwarded to the Rosary Society, who will remember your intentions at the Communion Service every Saturday at 9 AM. To be taken to the Prayer Request page click here or on the link in the box above.
