This past weekend July 31st the S.M.Y.G had our first ever Senior brunch. This year we honored 9 amazing seniors. There were so

many emotions to count…happiness, amazement, excitement and obviously sadness, but mostly very impressed! They have all

continued to give their time and charity to others in need, as well as balancing school, sports and of course their social life. Every

single one has touched my life and I truly love them all. To me, actions speak louder than words and all have done that and more.

Now these are not your average teens; they are all “extraordinary” with a solid faith and terrific morals. If they keep those qualities

with them as they journey through life, then the sky is the limit. I believe they all have the strength and courage to move forward and

make the right decisions!

St Michael’s will always be a part of their life. I have no doubt that all will give back to the Church throughout there lives.

Thanksgiving break is only around the corner, my hope is to meet with our new college students and review school so far!

Starting next week I will be highlighting each individual student with my memories and a poem that I have selected for them!

   This year the Youth Group has celebrated the 4^th year of the Jeremiah Awards ceremony.  We had 42 children receive the award this year. 

   The award is given to honor members of our Youth Group who have contributed outstanding service to both the Church and to society. All the kids fit the criteria for this award which are: Being a Youth Group member for a minimum of 2yrs, have had consistent attendance, project participation, leadership initiative and a willingness to help others. 

  The amount of selflessness that shines thru all their souls is quite a sight to see!   This award is named after the Lord’s helper, Jeremiah.  He was a natural born leader and stood up for what is right….that is exactly what all of these kids has shown over the years.   It is their dedication and enthusiasm that makes our Youth Group so special.  We hope every one of them will be part of this organization for many years to come and we congratulate them on their outstanding efforts.
