OFFICE MINISTRIES

PASTOR

   Ordained in 1966, the Pastor of St. Michael's Church, Rev. Charles B. Weiser, attained his Master of Theology degree in 1970  from the Princeton Theological Seminary. From 1970 to 1988, he served as Director of the Aquinas Institute and as Chaplain to the Princeton University students. Father Weiser received his appointment as Pastor of St. Michael's Church in 1989.

PARISH ADMINISTRATOR

   Efficient and friendly best describes Madeline Jurcisin.  One look at her office and reality strikes!  This is a busy person!  However, Madeline is never too busy to look busy!  Relaxed and kind, she is there for anyone who needs her. 

 Among her many duties, she lists the following: 

  ·      assisting the Pastor in varied business administration duties

 ·       handling accounts payable

 ·       coordinating details of all marriages

 ·       composing and preparing the parish bulletin weekly

 ·       taking and generating minutes of every parish staff meeting 

 

RECEPTIONIST

  Jennifer White is the first person you will meet when you ring the doorbell at the parish office.  Smiling and gracious, she will be happy to assist you at any time.

The duties of the Receptionist include the following:

·       answering the door and the phone

·       directing all incoming visitors and/or phone calls

·       handling Mass requests

·       recording Sacrament records

·       taking care of sponsor certificates

·       registering new parishioners

·       coordinating details of funerals

·       overseeing parish records

·       any and all other duties as the need arises

 

OFFICE OF DEVELOPMENT

   This office provides information  on the Christian discipline of stewardship of time, talent, and finances. It also works with donors who wish to make special gifts, and provides recognition for donors.

   The office further oversees parish volunteer activities and arranges for feed back from volunteers about their satisfaction with their position and the support they receive from the parish.  The office also assists new volunteers in finding suitable positions in the parish and recognizes volunteers for all they do.   

 

VOLUNTEER MINISTRY

   Members research areas of the parish where volunteers are needed.  They then solicit volunteers from the parish at large, requesting that they give of their time and/or talent.

 

STEWARDSHIP MINISTRY (to be revised)

Informed of the financial needs of the parish, members of this ministry study the ways and means of resolving such issues.

 

GROUNDS COMMITTEE

  This ministry, composed of capable volunteers, oversees the work of the landscaper.  Members strive to enhance the appearance and appeal of the church property in an effort to beautify God's house of prayer.

 

BUILDING COMMITTEE

   Dedicated individuals within this ministry oversee the care of the physical plant including all church buildings.  They offer suggestions for their constant maintenance and improvement.

  

FINANCE COMMITTEE

   Members of this ministry meet regularly to track the parish's finances.  They also approve the parish budget, and are available for any other financial assistance that may be required or deemed necessary.

   The Board of Trustees for the Corporation of St. Michael's Church, West End, New Jersey, are as follows:  President:  Most Reverend John Smith, Bishop of the Diocese of Trenton,  Vice-President: The Rev. Msgr. Gregory D. Vaughan,  Vicar General, Diocese of Trenton,  Secretary-Treasurer: The  Rev. Charles B. Weiser, Pastor,  and two lay trustees representing the parish at large, namely: Andrew Zazzali, Esq. and Linda Brockriede.
